Thankful Hearts

It wouldn't feel right not to dedicate an entry to the spirit of thanks this Thanksgiving. Our hearts are full of gratitude this year. We have TOO much to be grateful for. Topping the list are our amazing family and friends. We love you all more than you may know! We are grateful for our new life - our first baby, a great job, a new home. We are thankful for our health. And grateful for the joy we have in life. This year we have been given many, many blessing from our Heavenly Father. We could never deny that He does not hear and answer prayers. For that, we are the most grateful!

We've been busy getting ready for our first Thanksgiving meal away from family (although, you are with us in our hearts!). Let's hope that all of the research and preparation will pay off.  We'll take more pictures as the meal comes together. But so far the turkey is roasting in the oven, Mike made a cranberry chutney, we've got both dutch apple pie and a french silk pie (made from scratch...I'm proud of that : ), and some really nummy snacks. Our friends will be arriving shortly. It should be a GREAT day!

We cannot wait to dig into this baby. I made a homemade crust then turned it into a cinnamon roll. Those apples are from Sam & Doug's apple tree. And the crumble topping is Meagan's recipe. It looks amazing and smells even better!

The kids have been hanging around the kitchen as we cook, cook, cook. They are the best!
